Agents of SHIELD might have a secret connection to Edward Norton's The Incredible Hulk. Someone has just spotted a character from the ABC series actually hanging out with an important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A Reddit user has just pointed out that actor Peter Mensah had a minor role in the 2008 film. Mensah played General Joe Greller, an associate of Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt), before appearing as the villainous Qovas in the fifth season of SHIELD. Take a look at the post below.

It's easy to explain this away as Mensah simply taking on two unrelated roles in the Marvel Universe. However, it is possible that Qovas has been keeping close tabs on Earth by swearing allegiance to General Ross. In SHIELD, the character was revealed to be a member of the Confederacy, the alien union that pretended to keep Earth safe from Thanos. He had actually met with HYDRA and may have been planning to learn some major secrets from Ross in The Incredible Hulk.
It might seem far-fetched but SHIELD could easily take this minor casting error and make it canon. However, we're still not sure if that will actually happen in Season 6. Perhaps we'll find out next year.
This isn't the first time Mensah has played two different roles in a similar universe. He first appeared as Kibwe in True Blood before playing Lemuel Bridger in Midnight, Texas. Both shows are based on Charlaine Harris' books.
Mensah has several notable roles in his long career. He is best remembered as the Persian messenger who learns that "this is Sparta" in 300 and the Gallic gladiator Oenomaus in the Spartacus TV series.
Agents of SHIELD Season 6 will premiere on ABC in July 2019.
