One of the upcoming MCU series that is currently in the works is Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the WandaVision spinoff that will center on Agatha Harkness. So far, the details regarding the series remain under wraps at the moment, but production has been ongoing since the beginning of the year.
Now, more details have just been spilled regarding the series thanks to cast member Patti LuPone's recent guest appearance on The View. As reported by TheWrap, the Broadway legend revealed in the interview that she is playing the role of Lilia Calderu in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
"Well it’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. And I researched her, she’s hot! She’s really hot! She is! She’s got a great body, raven hair," LuPone said.
In addition, the actress also revealed that Heartstopper actor Joe Locke will be playing the witches' familiar in the series. She also spilled the other actresses who are playing the witches that are part of the same coven as her character.
LuPone added, "We are a coven of witches, and the witches are Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and the familiar — if anybody knows Heartstopper — is Joe Locke. And Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and myself. And I play Lilia Calderu, a 450-year-old Sicilian witch, whose power is divination, and whose trial is tarot.
As the actress mentioned, Lilia Calderu is an existing character in the pages of the Marvel comics who is associated with Doctor Strange and Karl Mordo. However, it looks like the MCU version will take a different direction since she will be part of Agatha Harkness' story instead of the two aforementioned sorcerers.
Considering the huge secrecy surrounding the MCU, it is surprising to hear that LuPone publicly spilled a lot of major details about her involvement in the series. Whether she was allowed to or not, it is exciting nonetheless since this gives us more idea about what we can anticipate in the series.
It also sounds like the Tony-winning actress' MCU role is going to be a juicy one since she seems to be excited about the role that she is playing. Now, let's just wait and see for more details on how she'll play into the story.
