- Quick Answer: Adria Arjona nearly played Qi'ra in Solo, but expressed gratitude for missing the part so she could star as Bix in Andor before joining the DCU.
From her breakout performance as Bix Caleen in Andor to her rising star status in Hollywood, Adria Arjona has gradually built and established herself as a major sci-fi and action force to be reckoned with.
However, her path in a galaxy far, far away almost looked entirely different, as the actress revealed she nearly debuted in a totally different Star Wars project before finding her signature role.

Before capturing hearts as mechanic Bix Caleen, Arjona got remarkably close to securing a leading role in 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. The actress recently revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that she auditioned and screen-tested alongside Alden Ehrenreich for the role of Qi'ra, a part that ultimately went to Emilia Clarke.
"I hadn't necessarily seen a Latin American woman like myself be in Star Wars. It almost felt like I had to break that wall, or at least somebody else or another Latin American should break that wall, and I would always root for them," Arjona recalled, considering that her 'biggest dream' was to be in a Star Wars movie.
Arjona said she had "never thought" about potential sequels or reprising her role as Qi'ra, had she been picked, as the experience leaned more on the opportunity to "be a leading character in a Star Wars movie."
The role went to Emilia Clarke, but Arjona couldn't be happier: "I'm so thankful I didn't get it. I wouldn't have been in Andor, and Bix is the only character I have tattooed on my body."
To Arjona, after all, missing out on Solo cleared the runway for the Onslaught star to bring Bix to life across two seasons.

Having established her place in the Star Wars lore, Arjona is officially expanding her blockbuster portfolio by leaping to DC Studios.
The actress has officially joined the cast of James Gunn's highly anticipated Superman: Man of Tomorrow in an undisclosed role.
While initial industry chatter linked Arjona to the alien queen Maxima, recent reports and her own comments fueled massive fan speculation that she could be playing a far more central hero, such as Wonder Woman.
Arjona has recently hinted at her workout regimen for the mystery part, confirming that her character will play an action-heavy role in shaping the future of the DCU. But her role remains to be seen.
At least until Man of Tomorrow premieres on the big screens on July 9, 2027. Stay tuned!
