ABC has announced that two Ryan Murphy-produced shows, 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey are set to have a crossover episode this coming March.
Considering that both shows are in procedural format, fans have been wondering whether ABC and Murphy will have plans to merge the worlds of 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey. Fortunately, that is set to happen sooner than we have anticipated.
9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey Crossover Episode to Air This March
It was recently announced that a crossover episode between 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey is set to air this March 20 on ABC.
The special event will take place in the eleventh episode of Doctor Odyssey titled "Casino Week" with Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) visiting the medical drama's cruise ship.
According to the episode logline: "It’s Casino Week aboard The Odyssey, and unexpected guest Athena Grant suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault. Enlisting Max’s help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand."
As most 9-1-1 fans know, this won't be the first time that Athena will be boarding a cruise ship as we saw her and Bobby have their honeymoon cruise trip that ended up in a disaster during season 7.
This will be the first time that two Murphy shows from different worlds/franchises will have a crossover event. It helps that both 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey hail from the same network.
March Marks Doctor Odyssey's Midseason Return
After a four-month hiatus, Doctor Odyssey is set to have a triumphant return this coming March 6 with a shark attack-themed episode.
According to the logline: "Max and Avery are at a crossroads as Avery faces a difficult pregnancy decision. Meanwhile, after Munroe is bitten by a shark, The Odyssey takes a dangerous detour to rescue a sinking boat, where a mysterious new passenger catches Max’s eye."
The Orville star Adrianne Palecki will make a guest appearance as trauma surgeon Dr. Brooke Lane, who is teased as a potential love interest for Max.
