Tom Cruise is back on the big screen with the release of the new film Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
While it remains to be seen whether it is officially the final installment of the franchise, Cruise is already working on other projects that he is set to star in over the next few years, and fans are already excited to see what else he is cooking.
Here are the five upcoming Tom Cruise projects that you should watch out for after the release of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
Untitled Alejandro G. Iñárritu Movie
Cruise will be seen next in an untitled movie directed by Oscar winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Production wrapped right before the actor embarked on a global press tour for The Final Reckoning.
So far, the plot details regarding the mysterious project are currently under wraps. Iñárritu teased in a recent interview that the film is "a wild comedy of catastrophic proportions."
Deeper with Ana de Armas
For the past few months, there have been rumors that Cruise and Ana de Armas might be dating after being spotted together publicly around London. As it turns out, they are working together on a project called Deeper.
The film follows an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force while on a deep dive into a never-before-explored trench. Doug Liman is attached to direct. The two stars have been doing diving training that is required for the project.
Top Gun 3
Following the massive success of Top Gun: Maverick, Cruise is now working on a third installment, with the key players from the sequel expected to be involved again.
The plot details are still unknown at this point since the project is still in early development, but Cruise is eager to continue Pete Maverick and the company's journey soon.
Days of Thunder 2
Last year, it was reported that a legacy sequel to Days of Thunder is currently in development, with Cruise attached to reprise his role from the first film and also serve as producer.
Since it is still in early development, the details are still scarce, and it might take a while before it moves forward to production. Nevertheless, it is an exciting project for fans who loved the original and are interested to see whether it will have the same impact as Top Gun: Maverick.
Untitled SpaceX Movie
It was reported a few years ago that Cruise is working on a movie project set and shot in space in collaboration with NASA and SpaceX. It is an ambitious undertaking for the actor considering the logistics that they have to settle to make this happen.
While the project is still in early development, and it remains to be seen whether they can actually commit to doing production in space, it is an exciting proposition from the actor, and it just shows why he is a fearless performer who is willing to do anything for cinema.
