More of Mount Doom
Many mountains are mentioned in Middle-earth, but the most important one is Mount Doom. It is the most iconic mountain in Middle-earth. Season 1 of The Rings of Power provided an explosive origin story for this formidable peak, setting the stage for the dark lands of Mordor.
The trailer for Season 2 hints at a deeper dive into Mount Doom's story, showing the land as it transforms and gains its notorious name. We might even see how Sauron staked his claim on this volcanic fortress.
We Might Get a Glimpse of Barad-dûr
Speaking of Sauron, Season 2's trailer gives us our first look at Barad-dûr, the centre of Sauron’s evil domain of Mordor. Though the design differs slightly from the films, it remains recognisable and imposing.

One of the more intriguing glimpses from the trailer is a desert-like region that appears to be Rhûn, an area largely unexplored in Tolkien’s writings—known as the Eastlands, Rhûn.
