Two original Magic: The Gathering paintings by Wylie Beckert were sold for $33,200.
On November 18, 2020, Beckert's Thwart the Grave was sold via auction on the MTG Art Market Facebook group for $15,600. A few weeks after that her art from the Zendikar Rising set, called Reclaim the Wastes, was sold the same way at $17,600.
Beckert ran both auctions on the MTG Art Market Facebook group and lasted for approximately five days each. They both opened at $2,000 bids and went up during the opening hours.
Her $17,600 sale of Reclaim the Wastes is now the highest price one of her MTG pieces has achieved, topping the price of her Soul Shatter, which was sold for $13,100 in Nov. 1.
Previously, Beckert sold Fae of Wishes, Rosethorn Acolyte, and Finishing Blow for less, and it looks like the prices of her art keep climbing, which is pretty impressive considering that only two of the cards are rares.
