Jeon Do Yeon and Ryu Jun Yeol will lead the forthcoming series as Boo Jung and Kang Jae, respectively. JTBC's 10th Anniversary Special Kdrama Lost is scheduled to premiere on September 4, 2021. Hometown is a mystery thriller set in a small rural town in 1999. The story centers around Choi Hyung In, a detective who chases and investigates a series of strange murder cases. 10 years ago, Jo Kyung Ho, a terrorist, returns to South Korea after studying in Japan and instigates an attack at a train station in his hometown that killed passengers. He turned himself to the authorities and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
His daughter, Jo Jae Young was sent to live with his younger sister, Jo Jung Hyun. Although labeled as a terrorist's family member, Jo Jung Hyun tried to restart her life with her niece. However, the child suddenly goes missing which led him to team up with Choi Hyung In.
It was an ill-fated connection as Choi Hyung In also lost his wife in the same terrorist attack that Jo Jung Hyun's brother took part in. As he investigates several murder cases that took place in the rural town, he starts to suspect that the cases could be related to the terrorists.
